The benefits of PIIB: in their own words
PIIB helps affiliates and their agencies thrive in a multitude of ways. Over the years, we’ve collected countless success stories and messages of thanks. We thought we’d share a snapshot of our collected testimonials below, categorized by agency type. Interested in learning more? Find out how to become an affiliate.
With PIIB, we got not only Direct appointments without termination fee and profit sharing but also an institute which was very well operated, fully transparent and someone who truly wants you to succeed. Tracy, you never questioned my projections and always gave more confidence in our ability to accomplish them. I appreciate it!
It started as a business relationship, but its more personal now. It's like one big group/family! We really have no expectation beyond what we already have established i.e. continued support.
My normal profit-sharing check was about 30,000 each year with my previous aggregator company. My check after changing to PIIB skyrocketed to over 150,000. If I would have stayed with previous company, my check this year would have been closer to 110,000. By Switching to PIIB I deleted the time-consuming requirements of the previous association, increased my profit-sharing income and lowered my monthly dues. I was pleasantly surprised in March when I received that check. PIIB also has a very complete list of carriers to write with.
We cannot thank you enough for the ongoing relationship between our agency and the PIIB family. We remain grateful in so many ways. Since we joined forces with PIIB 6 years ago, our business has continued to substantially grow. But being a PIIB member means more than growth. It means incredible leverage with our carrier partners, financial security through the contracts negotiated by PIIB and ultimately results in a better life for my family and the families of my agency teammates. We have been to accomplish goals personally in the last 3 years.
They provide access to relevant carriers. They don't get in the way; this is a minimalist organization and its extremely efficient. Ultra-responsive which is a big, huge requirement for me and my agency.
Our original Co-Op was charging us $40,000 in fees and taking 25% of the profit sharing off the top. PIIB offered us a $10,000 fee, and only a 10% take of the profit sharing. Now, I only went to State college, but the math seemed pretty straight forward to me. Also, we liked Larry and the PIIB gang far more, so this one really did fall in the “no-brainer” category. We’ve been PIIB members for a few years now, and the decision to move just keeps looking like a better and better one all the time.
I sleep easy at night knowing I have PIIB on my side. My small Agency would have never had a chance gaining direct appointments to all these quality markets. Thank you PIIB!
Although I’ve been in the insurance industry forever, it has been mostly in the claims world. In 2010, I decided to come over to the dark side and start an insurance agency. Throughout the last 12 years, I have had different avenues for accessing carriers. Some have been better than others, for sure. However, the company that stands head and shoulders above them all is PIIB. Some companies have had arduous application processes requiring ACORD forms when none were needed. Others had long turn around times that caused me to literally lose business. Through very lucky circumstances, I am now working with PIIB. They have worked tirelessly to seamlessly move me from my former cluster. I have remarked more than once that there is not one weak link in the entire organization. They all know what they’re doing, work hard and have a great attitude. The ease of doing business with all carriers is refreshing and is going to put me in a position to grow my business even more. PIIB is selective about which agencies to bring on. If they are offering to take on your agency, don’t pass go, don’t collect $200, just do it.
Starting a new agency can be a very daunting task. Between agency management systems, accounting systems, carrier appointments, employees……. you get the idea – overwhelming. We were very fortunate to meet the great folks from PIIB at a trade show in the early stages of our launch. Joining PIIB was one of the best decisions we made. They were instrumental in helping us set up carrier meetings and navigate the appointment process. They were also able to connect us with other affiliates to help answer the never ending stream of questions we had. In addition, we were able to generate contingency income in our first year – something that would have taken us 4 or 5 years to do on our own. Our relationship with PIIB continues to be one that we place a very high value on.
I was new in business; I needed the strength of a cluster/group to be able to obtain the markets I needed to make my transition as seamless and painless as possible. After speaking with 4 different clusters, I was most impressed with Larry’s genuine concern for my wellbeing and honesty on our call. I was also impressed with his team and the way they treat the people they work with. PIIB offered (and still does) the most value of all the clusters I interviewed and most importantly, they delivered on all their promises. I would not have been able to get to where my agency is today without the help and partnership with PIIB.
I have been an affiliate of PIIB since 2010. Since then, I have seen them grow to great heights with no visible ceiling in sight!
There are many clusters for independent agencies to choose to partner with but none, and I mean none, measure up to PIIB. With PIIB we not only have true autonomy with our carriers, ease of access to markets, a generous profit-sharing program, and total ownership of our book, we also feel like we are part of a big, and close family.
PIIB is an essential partner in our day-to-day operations as an independent commercial risk management firm. We couldn’t be more honored to be a part of the PIIB family. When I signed up in 2010 Larry Manning told me “you can check out any time you like, but you will never leave”. After 8 solid years, I can attest to the accuracy of that statement.
I evaluated two firms when researching networks for my agency. They were the dominant forces in the cluster space back then. It was a toss-up on which way to go. On a recommendation with a field consultant and old industry friend, we didn’t choose PIIB the first time around. That worked for a while, but the other network’s incentive payments dropped off the map, and I made a choice to move 100% over to PIIB. If I had to advise an agency owner looking into networks or clusters, I would tell them to go with PIIB and no others. The agency owner should take a look at the historical payout potential if your book is integrated as a sub-code for profit sharing. Compare that estimate to what you’re getting today, and then see if it is more beneficial. For our agency, profit sharing increased from $13,000 with our old network to $75,000 with PIIB.
In 2002, I was introduced and given the opportunity to join the PIIB organization. The staff has always been supportive, friendly, and incredibly helpful as my business continued to grow. Larry Manning and members of the team have always been committed to listening to input from the field and negotiating on our behalf with the carriers. As we now begin the transition into retirement, PIIB once again has done a fantastic job in their continued partnership. They have introduced me to interested parties and assisted in navigating the waters of rolling over my agency. Joining the PIIB organization was one of the best business decisions I made, and I will always be grateful for their support.
