Member Criteria and Approval Process
Potential members of PIIB are expected to be in strong financial condition, profitable with their markets and a source of growth in the future. We also look for expertise that will be of value to the members at large. An ability and willingness to work collaboratively with other agencies is required of a successful member.
The process of becoming a member of PIIB includes:
- Telephone interview or personal visit by President is completed to discuss PIIB and gather preliminary information on markets, size, specialization etc.
- Prospect provides completed application for membership and provides 2 years financial history and 3 years carrier premium/loss history.
- President completes analysis of above data. References with Markets are checked. DOI search for complaints and license status is completed.
- President arranges a meeting with the prospect in his office if that visit did not occur in step 1.
- President advises prospect of outcome of review.
- If accepted, President visits with prospect to complete contracts, review carriers requirements for appointment and complete carrier paperwork where needed. New member is provided with contact information for all members. We request they set up a mailing list of PIIB members in their E-mail system so they can immediately begin taking advantage of the networking capability of being a PIIB member. New member is also provided with contact information for carriers they will use.
- President provides carriers, to be used by new member, with the information they require.
