Meet the President
Larry Manning
Along his career travels, Manning met his soon-to-be wife Debbie while living in Fresno. Once offered a position in Sacramento, he told her that she could move anywhere she wanted after five years. They settled in El Dorado Hills and have never looked back. Debbie serves as president and CEO of the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce. Larry's daughter Tiffany, a recent Sacramento State grad, works for PIIB as well. Manning's son, Zachary lives in Davis and is pursuing a film career. The family pooch, Annie, is also often found at PIIB headquarters although her role is unclear. |
With a degree in economics from Virginia Tech, Larry Manning launched his insurance career as a Loss Control Representative in Richmond, Virginia. Moving up the ranks, he transferred to Washington DC as a Casualty Underwriter, followed by a supervisory roll which led him to a management position in Fresno. As a Regional Vice President, he held positions with Hartford in Fresno, St. Louis and Sacramento. Larry started with PIIB in 2001 as Executive Director. Manning recognized that the organization was the "cluster that worked." His knowledge of the industry and affinity for smaller insurance agencies was the perfect match. He was named president and COO in 2003. Under his leadership, PIIB hit the centurion mark in 2010, growing the company from seven to a hundred affiliates.
